Earlier this week me and my friend went to 7-11. We walk in get are cups and covers. Then fill them up with some Coke and Dr. pepper and head to the cashier.
I have been to that cashier before (different guy) and had some either racist or just really greedy guy behind the counter. As I remember I handed over a dollar by mistake that should have been put back into my friends wallet. So we realize my mistake and ask for it back, saying "I think thats our dollar" and the indian idiot says "I think its the stores dollar".
This guy this time was different. My friend went first and paid already. So instead of walking out side he waits for me inside. The guy behind the counter says to him for some random reason "I know you are waiting for youre PENNY". At first I didnt realize what he said but then I understood from my friends expression and fit the unclear words in. I was shocked too. We didnt say a word and just left. (I got my change before we left).
Is it just me or is it the normal thing that goes on. does anyone else get this from any stores?

32 people gave their 2 cents:
I bought beer there several times. Never hapened to me, though I always use credit cards because of the rewards.
I think it's called antisemitism. and it's been around for a while. Since Abraham I'm told.
I'd call the companys headquaters and make a complaint against the branch. Although personally I would have cut back with something based on where he was from or looked like.
I'm viscously quick with words.
Moshe
Where? the one on M?
Child Ish
LOL
Frumpunk
Nah! I wouldnt say anything back. dont know where you come from but here its never safe to start a racist fight.
yeah, M
Man, its a 7-11. The employee knows everythings being filmed and unless he's the manager I doubt he has the keys to the tapes. Its not gonna come to fists. If it is you have the advantage though. In my local 7-11 the wines are right behind where you pay. Grab a bottle and defend yourself. Whats he gonna do, throw ciggarettes? Maybe smoke them in the hopes you'll get lung cancer from his second hand smoke?
You know I always thought that girls were more emotional/sensative than guys. But now it looks like guys take every insult to heart and want to pick a fight at every chance.
MikeInMidwood: I've never had that case, where a store person said that. Although sometimes I would start going out the door and then they would say you forgot your change, so I would come back, say thanx and take it.
But I wouldn't get insulted by the person saying that your waiting for your penny, could be he was joking, and teasing.
FrumPunk: It's always better to be the good one and not answer back. Shows your a stronger person, more in control.
Babysitter
I dont know what you meant by Joking and teasing but where I come from its called racism.
i agree that it was a racist comment.
but if anyone thinks it really such a big deal, just keep it mind the next time you hear a friend/relative/teacher/rabbi make a racist comment or joke about goyyim, shvartzes, etc.
in sum: what goes around comes around
Yes. I heard a simillar story from someone else.
seriously? thats really funny, for the same story to happen
MikeInMidwood: ok, maybe it was racist. Sorry that happened to you.
But still you were smart for not answering back.
Lion Of Zion: exactly, we can't be racist and expect other people to not be racist about us.
For some reason I think "The Webman" and "Sam the Organizing Man" are the same person, and a friend of yours, and the one who went with you to 7/11.
Babysitter
I was thinking that they were the same person too. as for being one of my friends. Ill ask if one of my friends if they are commenting on my site.
Although Webman has a sight and organizer doesnt.
MikeInMidwood: so yea, I dunno, that's just the impression I got.
babysitter: i have no idea who the webman is
mikeinmidwood: i dont even know your real name how can i be a friend of yours
Sam the Organizing man: Ok, so then I guess not then.
But its strange that I only see you commenting on this blog.
I had thought that your name came from you being the organizing man at the shul MikeInMidwood Talked about. Because you were talking to each other about shul politics in some old post.
Ooo, let's stage a protest. Let us know when and where, we'll do the whole thing-pickets, signs, sticks, maybe even a burning tire or fifteen
End O world
If I can get a podium to speak at well have the whole-picket-thing.
babysitter: ive gone on other sites but for some odd reason i cant comment
and i am an organizer but not in a shul
who's your panel of speakers?
Me, Any other guy who likes protests and speaks well about racism. I did try to get Al Sharpton but he might not make it for this one.
btw, treppenwitz (who did NOT pay me to mention his name. stop rifling through my pockets. you wont find any evidence) had a really cute video on his site about 'stair wit.' you know, where you're hit with those witty comebacks ten minutes after you leave the situation.

anonymous just do us all a favor and get off the site
MikeInMidwood: he commented on my blog, because he said that you and Moshe don't allow anonymous comments anymore. But I'm moderating my comments for now, so I rejected it. Just letting you know he still wants to start up, but I'm not using my blog as a fighting board for him.
Moshe: the guy's not from Reston Virginia, that has to be someone else. Because he showed up on mine as Brooklyn, NY. Windows XP, Firefox 2. 1024x768, 70.23.249.75.
That's the IP I got. For some reason visual trace route said he's in Reston, VA.
