GAS STRIKE

I have recently heard about a city wide gas strike which set for Friday. It's goal is to lower the price of gas in our area do to the surge in prices. Aren't we supposedly producing ethanol which should be lowering the prices?! I was told that the reason for the rise in pizza prices was because of wheat fields being turned into corn fields to make ethanol to lower the prices of gas. That in itself is another reason for pizza's high price- it costs more to get the wheat to the stores due to the price of gas.

So about the strike... there is no going to the gas station to fill up the tank this coming friday. Personally, I never got this gas strike business, the most it will accomplish is getting everyone to fill up more on Thursday, the day before, or on Saturday. (Sunday for sabbath observers.) Besides for that, most people couldn't care less about keeping to such a strike and then you have those who simply need to get to Lakewood or Monsey for Shabbos. Actually, they would probably fill up in New Jersey so forget coming or going to Lakewood.

Maybe we should ban gas guzzlers like the Hummer or anything else that gets 15 miles to a gallon or gas itself. We're good at bans it should be easy, just post signs everywhere saying "Where will you buy gas on May 9th?" and later put up the ban with some chashuva signatures saying it's assur to buy gas on May 9th since it's not good for the atmosphere ( I dont agree with that) and buying those big SUV's is an imitation of the goyim. Another good reason is that we need separation at his mixed-seating concerts umm?... we need to separate ourselves from the arabs who are selling the gas (not depend on it) and we don't have that here. Then you could have all the newspapers asking did those who signed really know what they were signing? Should they have had a conference? Why were we allowed to buy gas before and now suddenly there is a problem with it? Really, I think we can do a great job with this banning business like we did to Lipa. A one day ban isn't really going to do much.

Assuring it just may be the answer.

I got an e-mail about the gas strike, it sounded like someone put in a lot of effort writing it all out, but I still deleted it, cause something like that could never happen.

These don't work for the simple reason that everyone either fills up the day before or the day after. These one day strikes are pointless.
